Your account security’s important to us. Here’s some advice on staying safe when shopping at Tesco.com and in the app.
Using fake emails to get someone’s personal details is ‘phishing’. For example, you could get a genuine-looking email saying it’s from us. But it asks you for information such as a password, date of birth, Clubcard number or bank details. Some emails may ask you to click a link to another website.
We’d never do this. Emails like this are likely to be fake. The only time we’d ask for this information is if you’ve contacted us and we’re replying to you. But we’ll never ask you for your password.
If you’re unsure about an email that looks suspect, delete it.
How to access your Tesco account
Never try to sign in by clicking a link in an email. Go to Tesco.com, sign in and go to ‘Account’.
Find more on this in our privacy centre.
What to do if you get an email about changes to your account
If we email you about activity on your account that you don’t recognise, contact us on this form. We’ll look at your account and contact you as soon as we can.
How we help protect your account
We’ll always email you if we notice unusual sign-in activity, such as an attempt to sign in on a new device. If this happens and you know it’s you, you don’t need to do anything.
If you’re in incognito mode for private browsing, you might get an email from us when you sign in. This is because we won't be able to recognise the device you're using.
If you know that you didn’t sign in or you're not sure, change your account password. Call us on 0800 022 3087 if you need more help.
